Brett Donovan is a Brooklyn-based “writer” and “comedian” who decided to “move” to NYC in 2019 to try performing stand-up. He has studied sketch comedy writing at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) and the PIT, and has written and performed in sketch shows for groups such as College Radio, Bragging Rights, and Pocket Candy.

In September 2024, he created the digital sketch group Alamo Basement, which he also edits and produces. One of their sketches was featured during the ‘Digital Hour’ in the PIT’s 2024 SketchFest.

He’s also currently the in-house Creative Strategist for a NYC-based production company, possessing 7+ years of professional experience in writing and copywriting roles. He previously contributed articles on television and film to Screen Rant, and wrote cultural features and hard news for a local newspaper based in Eastern Connecticut.
